Pros
- Good image quality.
- Amazing, and unique, high speed still and movie capture.
- White balance settings are very accurate.
- Comfortable body design.
- Full complement of manual and automatic features.
- 20X optical zoom lens, with great 26 - 520 mm range.
- True optical image stabilization.
- Electronic Viewfinder has very good apparent resolution.
- HD (1280 x 720) movie recording at 30 frames/second.
- High-resolution, 3.0 inch LCD.
Cons
- Autofocus system often struggled to lock focus; no multi-point AF feature.
- Too much noise in low-light photos.
- Images are relatively soft and image noise creeps in even at mid-ISOs.
- High frame rate movies are very low resolution; lots of light required.
- Lens distortion at telephoto.
- Somewhat limited battery life, despite good CIPA numbers.
(Buy several sets of Eneloop rechargeables and a good charger).
- Flash has a tendency to flatten.
